Rodney recognition

I'm looking for stories where Rodney is recognised for his genius on Earth. I've just re-watched Brain Storm and it didn't feel right that Rodney is viewed as a joke amongst his peers.

I'm particularly interested in anything similar to 'Ordinary Life' (sorry, can't remember the author) where Rodney is swamped with requests for his assistance because his peers know that he'll be able to fix what they're doing wrong. Also, any stories where a recommendation from Rodney is worth more in the physics world than any number of PhD's.

As a connected request, are there any Brain Storm fics that deal with the reactions of the people who were there and were forced to re-evaluate their opinion of Rodney?
