McShep vs the 'phobes

With all these gay bashing cases popping up left and right, I was wondering if there are any fics where John and/or Rodney get harrassed/assaulted and then they kick the homophobes' asses, either verbally or physically.

I get my vindication through fanfic, what can I say.

I read one along time ago, I think it was on Area 52. I havent been there in a while but they used to have a decent search.

Well, I clicked on this link because I wanted to *read* more fic like this, and then was sadly disappointed to find out that I'm the first to respond! ;)

Alrighty. So give to receive, right? ;)

First, there's 'Gayworld (http://zelempa.livejournal.com/54541.html)', by zelempa (so you know it must be good.) This is actually an inversion of the trope you asked for, but I think it will still fit. Rodney and John must pretend to be together in order to satisfy the norms of a culture very different from their own. It is another character who is harassed, rather than John or Rodney.

Then there's 'Scenes From a Lesser War (http://amific.livejournal.com/4455.html)', which is all about DADT being repealed; though it is such a well-known fic I wonder if it's a somewhat superfluous recommendation. Once again, the person being defended is not John or Rodney, though! (Hmm - guess these are rarer than I thought!)

Then there is trinityofone's 'DADT, Damyata, Dayadhvam (http://trinityofone.livejournal.com/62721.html)', yet another incredibly well-known fic, but what the hey. :) It's an old-fashioned mind-control sci-fi fic, very well-done. In this case it is not one person attacking Sheppard and McKay, but a whole group of people, and even their own minds. Definitely a must-read.
