Hey all (:

I'm looking for two things:

1: Rodney and John get together, shag like the proverbial bunnies etc and Rodney reads more into it than John. John thinks it's casual, Rodney thinks it's love, that kind of thing. Anything where Rodney discovers it by seeing John then date someone else, ensuing angst would be great. Bonus for a happy McSheppy ending where John finally realises he wants Rodney.

2: John rejecting Rodney at first, then slowly realising he actually wants to be with him.

Basically angst with the 'yay' factor.

Thank you lots if you can help (:

For number one: Mistakes and Forgiveness (http://www.panopeeper.com/raven/StargateAtlantis/MistakesForgiveness.htm) matches your request pretty much right on.

For number two Close Encounters (http://amific.livejournal.com/3218.html#cutid1) is kind of what you described. John doesn't outright reject Rodney, but it's just assumed that as he's straight, Rodney's feelings won't be returned anyway.

I happen to have a thing for cheating!John (which falls into your number one since its mostly McKay mistakenly thinking they're together). So:
Same Old Dance (http://lavvyan.livejournal.com/98894.html#cutid1). Well. And here he'd thought they were more than just a fling.

Mistakes and Forgiveness (http://www.panopeeper.com/raven/StargateAtlantis/MistakesForgiveness.htm). Rodney hadn’t realized what a huge mistake it had been not to sit down and explain to John what being in a real relationship entailed, especially concepts such as monogamy. A breaking up-making up story.

Telling (http://deelaundry.livejournal.com/129090.html). When “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is repealed, Sheppard’s response is not what McKay expects.

Famous Last Words, "Not a Love Song" (http://community.livejournal.com/mcshep_match/18101.html). "I'll bet it will be huge shock when they do. The great big hero turning out to be gay and all." (DADT repealed, everyone expects McShep, John denies, then becomes McShep)

Good to Want (http://yin-again.com/goodtowant.htm). It was one of John's signature lines. He used it whenever someone came up to him and said, "I want this" or "I want that" and he had no intention whatsoever of giving it to them. "It's good to want things." He said it with a smirk and that flat accent and a head tilt, and the other person generally went away, thinking about how charming that John Sheppard was. He'd never said it to Rodney before.

The author has posted it on her WIP list, so she may still update it.

Weird, it works for me. Huh.

It's also linked in the comment just below mine, but if that doesn't work ask again and I'll try to find an alternate of it.

For #2 cobweb-diamond, Following Seas. I can't log in right now but go to McKay/Sheppard Slash and click her author tag. I really liked this story. It's a "not at first but at last" kind of story.
