Hey guys, I'm looking for fics featuring John Sheppard and Jack O'Neill as two of the main characters.

Crossovers, AUs, Gen, Het, Slash it's all good!

Also fics with John as the main character and Jack having a more background part (as long as he features pretty heavily) are good too! Thanks!

BTW: I have read the Pegasus B stories. :)

UPDATE: You guys rock! Keep 'em coming! :)

If you haven't read Martha Wilson's absolutely gorgeous Retrograde series (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/seriesindex.htm) yet, you are in for the biggest treat. Lots of John and lots of Jack (also other folks, but those two feature prominently), engaging plot (edge of the seat stuff, as far as I'm concerned), and the best part: It's LONG! Gen to start with, but it gets slashy-ish later on. The first story is podficced (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/podcastindex.htm) too.

They're a favorite (gen) combo of mine. There are some fics out there with both of them. Mostly gen and het. As requested John is the main character and Jack is a secondary lead or more background character. I'd also recommend searching under John or Sheppard or Atlantis in the SG-1 section of FF and under Jack or O'Neill in the SGA section. Some I like:

SGAFan's A Change in Routine is a nice little missing scene between John and Jack in the helicopter in "The Rising." http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2670600/1/

Dezrai's In Atlantis is like a fan's wishlist in a fic (or at least mine), it has gorgeous (and burning hot) love stories between John and Teyla, Jack and Sam, John is smart and recognized for it, John and Jack play with Atlantis and ancient tech (, Todd and John in action, SG-1, John bonding with Torren, fab action, humor, angst etc. http://sjalways-forever.jackandsamforever.net/viewstory.php?sid=2856

"Cosecant" by miss_porcupine is a beautiful and dark scene between Jack and John that reveals as much about Jack and his damage as it does about John. http://www.offpanel.net/dmz/sga/cosecant.html

Also check out her novelization of the rising. http://www.offpanel.net/dmz/sga/novel.html

In eretria and auburnnothenna's fluffy and funny friendship fic, when he is inspired by Carter's oh so hilarious care package to McKay, O'Neill sends John some care packages after Atlantis re-establishes contact with earth. http://www.eternalvox.net/~auburn/carepackages.html

Jack plays a major part in one of my favorite new series, the incredibly imaginative and well-written Evander's Heir (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3828287/1/Evanders_Heir) and Evander's Heir II: Dark Mind (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4538790/1/Evanders_Heir_II_Dark_Mind) by ShepsReyna. I love Jack and John flying together in one scene. Most shocking thing is that this is the author's first story. A major talent.

Jack also appears in her Zorro's Legacy (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4153326/1/Zorros_Legacy), which is a great whumper, team on earth story and a look at John the pilot as well as an introduction to one of John's old flight instructors. You will love it.

Part 2 because LJ is stupid

Jack and Sam babysit the Sheppard kids to disastrous results in The Family Atlantis (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4640458/1/). Very funny.

In To Promote or Not To Promote, Landry tells O'Neill of Elizabeth's demand for John to be promoted and head up the military on Atlantis. As a John fan this one upsets me a little because of their attitudes and yet it is perfectly in character and accurate for the characters and two officers of their experience and rank. I like the military parts to be as realistic as possible and this is. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2587507/1/

Poor Sam. John and Jack are way too alike in Made to be Broken, which cracks me up every time. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3851953/1/

When Jack confronts John after the events of McKay and Mrs. Miller, he sees an uncomfortably close reflection of himself, his values and the difficult choices he has made in the younger man in Mirror, Mirror. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3926680/1/

If you like AUs, you have to check out the best and most hilarious crackverse ever, the House That Jack Built community (http://community.livejournal.com/jack_built/). Jack runs an apartment house and John (among many, many other characters) is a tenant. There are a ton of stories and they are all a delight.

I don't know if you have ever read Ryan C. Charles incredible AU series (http://doorwaysfanfic.com/) but if you haven't, you will not be sorry that you took the time to read these. They are fabulous. Jack appears most significantly in the stories near the end but I wouldn't read them out of order. He is fantastic especially in Reconciliation. The author basically took the events of The Long Goodbye and split off into a new AU. There are a ton of LONG stories, enough to stay up all night reading (as I did). The world building and how she addresses the ethical issues of what the expedition is doing and has done is incredible. Sometimes events from the episodes in canon cross over but always in the context of this world. She hasn't written anything since January because she is pissed at the TPTB but hopefully she'll start again. We can beg right? This is sophisticated storytelling at its best and there are tons of meaty parts for characters we love like Lorne and Jack. The ship is there but subtle so if you are a J/T fan you will be happy, and if you're not, you won't mind. The Pegasus Galaxy and the show as it had the potential to be with strange, fully-developed alien races, moral dilemmas, advanced and dangerous technologies, character development and vivid emotional resonance.

Part 3 grr

Now this may be too AU for you, but my sister just turned me onto the unbelievably (seriously, when she told me the premise, I said WTF, are you kidding me?!?!) genius and perfect crossover combination of Gilmore Girls and Stargate Atlantis/SG-1 in Physics of the Spin by mhalachai (http://mhalachaiswords.com/writing/viewstory.php?sid=253&textsize=0&chapter=1). In this fic, Rory Gilmore finds out that she is not in fact Christopher's daughter but actually the product of a one-night stand between Lorelai and a Canadian exchange student. Yes, Rodney McKay, the one person on Earth (okay, not currently) that possibly talks more and faster than the Gilmores. Rory struggles to understand herself now that her worldview has been rocked so completely. She tells no one, not even Lorelai what she has learned and turns inward. She quits her job, lives at home and teaches herself the math, physics and all the science she needs to understand her mysterious father's work. She draws the attention of the NID with her computer searches and Jack is sent to check her out and eventually recruit her. Once you get beyond the disbelief of the idea of Lorelai sleeping with Rodney, this story works. Rory fits into the Stargate world like she was there from the beginning, turning her intellectual curiousity, powerful intellect and thirst for knowledge on the science of the Stargates and ZPMs. She forms an intense friendship with Vala that is a highlight, bonds with fellow geek Daniel, crushes hard on the gorgeous and charming Cameron Mitchell (with whom she has astonishingly fabulous chemistry, I hope the author isn't just teasing us), and blowing away Dr. Lee and the other SGC personnel with how quickly she picks up everything they throw at her (actually she surpasses them even before she arrives at the SGC). The story is not complete, Rory has just finally reached Atlantis and met her father, who took the news with his usual grace. Jack recruiting her is great. John sees her on the street and guesses who her father is with one look.

She's still updating In Atlantis about once a week and apparently has a sequel coming. I can't wait.

Jack isn't a main character, but he has pivotal scenes with Sheppard in vainglorious's Unresolved series.

Well, at least it's been off the air a few years so you're mostly safe....

Does that mean you didn't like it? Or that you agree that she just fits seamlessly into the SG1/SGA universe and it's a great story?

I just read it and was floored! It was brilliant! Now I can't see Rory as anything but Rodney's daughter! I just wish the author would continue the story...
