I'm looking for fics where John and Rodney's relationship is revealed, and people don't actually go "Oh yeah we knew all along". I'm not necessarily looking for shunning or anything (though that's okay too), just something different from the usual "knowing smiles" stuff. And a little angst is okay, too, as long as the ending's happy.

And I can't quite help answering with an 'almost what you want.' At least, when I read this, I thought of a scene from one of my fave fics, Oblivious (http://www.intimations.org/fanfic/stargate/Oblivious.html) by astolat, in which someone is utterly unbelieving of the McShep, but it didn't quite come out the way you indicated above.

I know there is one by Mmmmchelle where they were outed and Elizabeth was livid that they would jeopardize Atlantis by their actions, and I think Caldwell was the one who outed them. There was fallout, and it was angsty, but I think it had a good ending - and I can't find it anywhere. Maybe someone else knows the one I mean and can post a link?
