'Sentientisation' of non-sentient/intelligent things

I know - 'sentientisation' is not a word, but I couldn't think of the right word / phrase to use!

Basically I want fics where the characters are not human or any other 'intelligent' life forms. For example: animals, plants, robots, inanimate objects etc. I would prefer McKay or McShep (friendship or slash) centric.

I'd also prefer if they are actually these things rather than 'transformation fics', but I wouldn't say no if you have some good ones to recommend (such as Rodneysaur - so cute!).

EDIT: Sorry, I meant that it's the Atlantis characters that are the 'non-sentient' things. E.g. McKay is a robot or even something stupid like a tomato. Crack!fic basically.

Rodney with strong/natural ATA gene

Hey all! Having recently read a lot of stories where at one point Rodney is envious of John or Jack for their superior ATA gene or where his gene fails to activate something and he has to get John, I was wondering: Are there any stories where Rodney is a natural ATA carrier or where his gene is as strong or stronger as John's?
