AUs with Stargate

So, generally speaking, lists of AUs are primarily (or exclusively) populated with earthbound AUs, where either there is no SGC or the characters are not in a position to be aware of it. And those AUs are awesome! But not what I'm in the mood for.

I'm in search of AUs (preseries or early series, I guess) wherein something is more subtly different. Maybe Rodney works at the SGC but John doesn't at first, or vice-versa. Maybe it's a more general difference, like synecdochic's City on the Edge of Forever, where Elizabeth prepares the expedition as a colony. I'm not picky! Just something showing a different way the characters came to Atlantis, or came to know about Atlantis, or how the differences changed their early adventures.

I'm open to any point of view, main character, pairing, whathaveyou... just AUs where there is still Atlantis, or the potential to go there, if the fic doesn't progress that far.
