Jul. 18th, 2011 07:26 pmHello!
Two quick questions (pairing/genre immaterial):
1) Considering how often McKay gets slapped with the Teal'c thing in fanfic (and canon?), it begs the question if there are any stories out there where McKay delivers a slap with the Teal'c thing.
You know, for example, maybe someone from his team is in a perilous situation, but SGC/Carter in Season 4/O'Neill/etc. will not authorise a rescue, stating (in)explicitly that one man's life is not worth Earth/Atlantis/etc., and where he then answers with, "So how do you explain the Teal'c thing then? Or does that rule only apply when it's not one of your people?" or something to that effect.
In short, instead of McKay being the one shamed with that bit of history, it simply should be someone else being shamed into acknowledging hypocritical behaviour.
2) Any stories out there where McKay/Zelenka/anyone decide they'd be better off just recruiting (fresh-out-of-)uni scientists so they don't have to deal with radical relearning, considering the Pegasus rules of science? Could even be a Pegasus native. (Teyla maybe?)
Or maybe the military (Sheppard/Lorne/O'Neill/etc.) decide Atlantis should simply get to have their own special boot camp?
Hope that wasn't too confusing an explanation, and thanks in advance for any help. :)
