Scientists and Military

I'm looking for any stories out there that deal with the scientists of Atlantis acting as soldiers, or the military acknowledging that the civilians on the base have to take on non-civilian roles (ie, carrying guns on away missions, providing cover fire during fights). Basically, anything where it's acknowledged that the scientists and civilians often find themselves in situations that they weren't trained for, and most likely not prepared for, either mentally or emotionally, and the toll it takes on them.
