Coming out and AU versions.

1) Rodney and John coming out, but it's a complete surprise to their friends. I've read so much where everyone expected them to get together sooner or later. Or even assumed they already were. But I really want some fic where the revelation comes totally out of left field, as far as the others are concerned. I don't want any hostile repsponses to their relationship, though. Light teasing, acceptance, affection and maybe a little bit of awkwardness in response is what i'm looking for.

2) AU versions end up on Atlantis, but their relationship with one another is drastically different from the expedition members we already know and love that are already there. Whether they're closer or more distant, i'm open to pretty much anything. I'm particularly looking for funny, awkward and possibly enlightening situations that make canon Rodney and John revaluate their own friendship. Pairing wise, i'd like McShep, but AU versions of other characters popping up with them as well would be awesome. No mpreg, bdsm or genderswap please. Just that good ol' cliché of doubles meeting each other, like Rodney and Rod.

Hi, I'm looking for fics where Sheppard's intelligence and/or aptitudes play a big role:

1. AUs with him as a scientist or eccentric genius, like No Good Deed by forestgreen or Teamwork by Magus Minor.

2. Fics where he comes across as just plain awesome or badass, like Ties That Bind or What Might Have Been by keiramarcos.

I'm *not* looking for fics where John's intelligence/badassness is given just a passing mention or a surprised reaction - I'm looking for fics where they are central to his characterization, even central to the whole fic. I'm also not looking for MENSA-verse fics in general, but if you can think of a nice, long, John-centric one, why not?

Slash is preferred but gen and het are fine, the longer the better. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for a couple of different things:

1) Fics where John and Rodney call each other by pet names (like baby, darling, etc), either consciously or without realizing that they're doing it.

2) Fics where John tries to "motivate" Rodney on missions by yelling at him, only Rodney doesn't see it like that, and he gets offended, or hurt, or he leaves the team or Atlantis because he thinks John really means the things he's saying, or thinks he's worth only what he can fix/build
