kirinin.livejournal.comHey, all - I was wondering if you could help me collect a particular trope that I enjoy and have now seen often enough to start trying to tag.
In this trope, John and Rodney feel so connected to Atlantis that they begin to feel out-of-place or uncomfortable on Earth.
This could be a not-so-simple adjustment (John keeps on walking into doors on earth because the darned things refuse to OPEN ON THEIR OWN in Bang) or more complex (in Zugzswang, the Team is homesick for the Pegasus galaxy, feeling at loose ends after Atlantis lands in LA.) There is also a fic where John keeps moving in front of Elizabeth as she attempts to talk to the SGC officials, because something in him is saying offfworld, and dangerous... he no longer sees earth as home, nor the SGC as safe. There are stories also where they lose contact with earth, are *forced* to adapt, and then regain contact and are not so happy about it... And all of these stories seem to focus on the friendship/solidarity/codependency the Lanteans feel towards one another after going through so much together.
I could swear I've asked this before, but I must have been hallucinating because I can't find it here. (If someone knows of the search and can link it, I would be embarrassed yet also grateful. I have spent some time looking for it, myself.)
As many as you can recall that fit this trope would be excellent, as I am trying to gather fics I may have read already that ought to be tagged 'earthisnothome'.
