Long McShep w/o Whump

I've got a craving for long McShep stories, novel-length or a series of shorter stories that add up to a long one. But one thing I'm not interested in is whumpage. I really don't like stories about the characters getting beat up on and having to go through a long convalescense. I can't read pages and pages about torture, character being incapacitated because of drugs or injury, or a lengthy hospital stay. Tons of angst, mental trauma, and self-pity are also a big turn-off.

Some minor injuries or something that is mentioned in passing is fine. Everything doesn't have to be completely happy-go-lucky. Basically I'm looking for nothing worse than the level of team injuries as you'd see in canon--stuff that sucks at the time but can be expected to heal up and be okay by the next episode.

I'd also be interested in gen-fic as long as it has Sheppard & McKay as close friends, but McShep is preferred.

Hi guys, long time no search!

A recent(ish) search by madhatterrune for fics "where something about John turns Mckay on. It can be a glimpse of skin or John putting on a show. John deliberately provoking or doing it without being aware", has spiked my interest. :)

I know there are other searches looking for fics where one is attracted to the other without the other one knowing it (so hot! and also, sweet), but what I'm looking for now are ones which incorporate the idea that there is one thing in particular that turns on, or attracts, them.

Obvious plot-lines that spring to mind for me are ones where McKay is hot for Sheppard's brain, or where Sheppard gets captivated by McKay's hands etc.

What I'm driving for though, are fics where this type of thing is the case, but the main point is either Sheppard or McKay struggling to conceal the overwhelming desire they feel whenever the thing occurs. I'm talking inability to speak, drool, etc. And the other person thinking they're a loon or asking if they're feeling well. *snerk* Can be an au, can be canon, can be a bit angsty or really fluffy; anything so long as there is obliviousness and one of them really fixating on a certain attribute of the other!

~ I'm not sure if I've really described that very well, but I tried to make it as different from previous searches as poss - if I haven't done a good job I'm sorry, and feel free to put your own interpretation on the request or give me any suggestions!
