disability stories

I looking for stories in which either John or Rodney becomes permanently physically disabled?
Or it is thought to be permanent, a happy ending is a plus.
Like paralysis or blindness? Or failing that an injury or illness story in which recovery takes a long time.
I haven't run across any as of yet.
A long story would be great but any size would be good. Oh, and i'm only interested in Gen or
Het stories, please. Thanks so much

Okay, so I recently read sardonicsmiley's SGA fics, and she has sucked me into the world of McShep. So, I have two requests:

1. any stories like Promises writ in indelible ink that features Rodney being marked by the SGA crew (to never lose him and show how important he is to them)

2. any Rodney/John fics out there that should be read
