"John puts out for Atlantis"

A recent search on sgastoryfinders for seperis' The Touch of Your Hand, a story that includes a few lines about John having paid for a desperately needed ZPM with his DNA/his body for one night, sent me on a search for similar stories: The Atlanteans paying for a ZPM (or something else desperately needed by them) with Sheppard's DNA and/or his body.

So far all I have come up with is MusIgneus' What Price but I can't believe that's really all that's out there.

Any ideas and suggestions would be greately appreciated.

It's not his body or DNA, but his memories, and it hurts so good: Your Cowboy Days are Over (Mommas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys) (http://www.butcheredart.net/Fiction/YourCowboyDays.html). Longish and angsty.

They trade one of John's childhood memories and the last of the medical supplies for passage on a cargo ship, and land on Bajan in mid-winter. The memory is nothing exceptional: Rachel Sheppard doing the baseball mom thing on a Saturday afternoon in 1975, at Fort Bragg. She wears a bottle green shirt, the left wristcuff stained with soda; she yells, "Show them what you're made of, Big J!" when John is up for bat in the fourth inning and Frank Sheppard has left the stands; even with the sun in his eyes, John hits a line drive that takes him to third base. Because little league is nothing anyone in this galaxy has ever heard of, the clip sells at a premium. Teyla holds his hand during the upload and hums an Athosian chant, but John's okay. He's got more where that came from.

The Hunting Parties series by ltlj has a little bit of that. In the last part of the "Foreign Affairs" story http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/stories/foreignaffairs3.htm John ends up in an arranged marriage with the male leader of the people on the planet, so Atlantis can investigate an ancient site there. Except, in that one, John is already involved with the OMC before they get married. He was quite happy to provide Vanrin with dingaling, even without a wedding ring. :P

It's a great and very rec-worthy story though.

Oh, he's trading his *memories*, now that's interesting. I assume he's losing them as soon as he has them sold and "uploaded", so it's really a case of "sell" not "share"? Yes, I'm definitely going to read that. Thank you so much. :-)

Ah, already involved, I see. So, no, that's not what I was looking for here though that doesn't mean I won't check it out at a later time, when I'm in the mood for that kind of story. Thanks for the clarification. :-)

It's my favourite comfort fic - John and Vanrin (the OMC) are completely smitten with each other, and it's adorable. I just want to squish them together.

It's got everything, romance, humor, adventure... It's one of those fics that I rec to anyone who doesn't have a problem with non-McShep stories. So yes, you should read it. :)
