I just read sardonicsmiley's "Logical Solutions to Illogical Situations" and I've read seekergeek's "Atlantis Observed."

What are your favorite stories featuring a Sentient Atlantis that wants to interact with the 'Lanteans?

Just FYI, I maintain a comprehensive list of sentient!Atlantis fics, in a darn big table (http://debris-k.livejournal.com/8391.html) form, plus the fic 'blog (http://sentient-atlantis.thekipple.net) and its free 'blog mirror (http://sentientatlantis.wordpress.com/"). In case you want to go huntin' through the fics there yourself. :-) And I see it's been recced in the meantime - yay!

One of my faves is:

Women's Work (http://wickedwords.livejournal.com/488417.html) by [livejournal.com profile] wickedwords, PG, Miko/Laura; Antarctica taught Miko that context was everything.

I might try to sort more for you tomorrow, but really, most 'Atlantis communicates with someone' fics would fit, and you can sort through which type you like in the 'blog or at the darn big table, as they have descriptions and all.

I have a ton of recs:
1. Foolproof and Incapable of Error (http://neery.livejournal.com/25781.html)
Summary: I am, by any practical definition of the word, foolproof and incapable of error. I am merely helping you put yourself to the fullest possible use. The AI seemed almost surprised at Rodney’s objection.

2. In the Jumperbay (http://damerel.livejournal.com/28982.html)
Summary: “Then the scientist kissed John,” and Jumper Three pauses, in just the same way that all the jumpers pause over John’s name, which has the serendipitous effect of allowing a collective shuddering sigh to fill the jumper bay.

3. Her Way (http://blackchaps.livejournal.com/218386.html#cutid1)
Summary: Atlantis has a plan.

4. Forty-Two (http://cathalin.livejournal.com/10977.html)
Summary: Rodney realizes something, and takes a risk. (Tag for Quarantine)

5. Don't Panic (http://bibliotech.livejournal.com/488737.html)
Summary: "I don't get it. You have an entire city that loves you--and I mean loves you. It wants you to be happy and healthy and have whatever you want. And how is this bad, exactly?"

6. Cooperation (http://dk-valentine.livejournal.com/158637.html)
Summary: Atlantis liked him.

7. We Now Return You To Your Regularly Scheduled Crisis (http://siegeofangels.livejournal.com/282056.html)
Summary: John tells Rodney how Atlantis loves him.. and a new way to charge ZedPMs

8. Persistence of Memory (http://ladycat777.livejournal.com/839748.html#cutid1)
Summary: Atlantis always made him feel so stupid. Innocent and naive, there to be coddled instead of partnered.

9. Lucid (http://fiercelydreamed.livejournal.com/21601.html?style=mine#cutid1)
Summary: Can you make it until 3 a.m.? he'd asked. I should be able to figure something out by then.

10. Routines (http://lavvyan.livejournal.com/17055.html#cutid1)
Summary: Atlantis may adore John, but her subroutines love Rodney.

11. Voices (http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=5741)
Summary: And then there was the room with the chair and he'd brushed his fingers against burnished blue and silver and heard (please anything you want everything you need anything at all just please please touch me please just) and he sat down.

And for a really creepy one: Failsafe (http://ana-grrl.livejournal.com/121113.html).

I like [livejournal.com profile] slybrarian's series Dramatic Exit, found here:
http://slybrarian.livejournal.com/5054.html

which features a sentient Atlantis, a Sheppard/Lorne (+ later occasionally McKay) pairing, and a Chuck/Parrish secondary pairing.

Just piping in to add that "Don't Panic" has a wonderful cracktastic sequrl Everyone Knew Her as Nancy (http://apple-pi.livejournal.com/196604.html) by [livejournal.com profile] apple_pi - what happens when OTPs are thwarted by pesky things like the fact that people can’t date, well, cities. So the people want to date other people, and maybe the cities get kind of jealous.
