Anyone rec me some John/Rodney stories in which there are daring rescues and last minute heroics, races against time and possible an overabundance of drama? I'm in the mood for heroics.

Not a post goes by that I don't think about finding ways to rec Five Impossible Things Rodney McKay Did Before Breakfast (http://laceymcbain.livejournal.com/202087.html) by laceymcbain, McShep, PG-13, because I love it soooo much it's just that good. :-) Rodney in full hero!Rodney mode, yum.

Also, I have fallen in love with sarcasticsmiley's fics; just from the top of my head I could count several fics which would fit here, some AUs, some not. Are you familiar with her stuff? If not, well. It's past my bedtime but if you want, I can sort some out for you tomorrow.

Oh, and there's this half-decent writer called lavvyan who gave a few tries at McShep heroics... ;-P

Then I declare that you are a paragon of decency, you are.

...There's one fic which I think would be good for this theme (read: perfect) but I haven't been able to find it for months. The one in which Rodney uses the chair to save Atlantis and in turn gets his brains fried/deleted, so John has to save the day i.e. Rodney from a coma... darn, I know it's one of those "famous" ones. Oh well, storyfinders, here I come!
